World Chagas Disease Day

World Chagas Disease Day is observed every year on 14 April. This disease is also called American trypanosomiasis/silent/silent disease. The purpose of celebrating this day is to increase public awareness and visibility of the resources needed for the prevention, control or eradication of Chagas disease. This year the day was observed under the theme ‘Finding and reporting every case to defeat Chagas disease’.

This disease is called a silent or silent disease because no symptoms are seen when this infected disease occurs. Not only this, the patient himself does not initially realize that he is getting infected with this disease. Around 6-7 million people worldwide are infected with Chagas disease, of which 10,000 people die each year. Given the severity of the disease, it has been included in 11 official global public health campaigns identified by the World Health Organization.

History:

In the 72nd World Health Assembly held on 24 May 2019, the World Health Organization approved the celebration of World Chagas Disease Day on 14 April every year. Thus the first World Chagas Disease Day was observed on April 14, 2020. The day is named after the Brazilian doctor Carlos Ribeiro Justiniano Chagas because he was the one who diagnosed the first case of the disease on April 14, 1909.


Himachal Day

‘Himachal Divas is celebrated every year on 15th April in Himachal Pradesh. This day marks the memory of the creation of Himachal Pradesh. The literal meaning of Himachal Pradesh is ‘snow-covered area’. It is located in the northern part of India. It is bounded by Jammu and Kashmir in the north, Punjab in the west, Haryana in the south-west, Uttarakhand in the south-east and Tibet in the east. It is spread over an area of ​​55,673 square kilometers. The official languages ​​of the state are Hindi and Sanskrit.

History of Himachal Pradesh:

  • After Independence, Himachal Pradesh Was Formed On 15th April 1948 As The Chief Commissioner’s Province.
  • Himachal Pradesh Was Made A “C” Category State On January 25, 1950.
  • It Was Declared A Union Territory On 1 November 1956.
  • In The Year 1966, The Hilly Regions Of Punjab Were Included In Himachal Pradesh.
  • The Parliament Passed The Himachal Pradesh Act On 18 December 1970.
  • After This, On January 25, 1971, Himachal Pradesh Came Into Existence As A Full-Fledged State And Became The 18th State Of India At That Time.

‘Amrit Samagam’ conference organized

Union Home Minister Amit Shah organized ‘Amrit Samagam’, a summit in New Delhi for the country’s cultural and tourism ministers.

Swatantra Swar: Through this initiative, all the articles banned during the British Raj were highlighted. These articles were read by prominent personalities from different languages ​​of the country.

Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar: The Ministry of Culture in partnership with Common Service Centers (CSC) has started this initiative. Its objective is to promote the cultural identity of the villages.
